How long does a Tail Devil last?
The lifespan of a Tail Devil will varies depending on how frequently and intensely each skater drags their tail.
Factors such as the roughness of the ground and the skater's abilities can also play a roll.
We’ve witnessed Pros tear thru one in a single session, while more conservative skaters can keep
"Sparking It Up” for weeks to months.
How do I make my Tail Devil last a longer?
For maximum longevity, we recommend doing occasional short burst for sparking pleasure, followed by your usual skate routine. At this rate, it may last weeks or even months.
Does it affect your pop and/or overall performance?
The Tail Devil’s is designed to minimize interference with your regular skating. Most people barely notice a difference when performing tricks. Check out some of our YouTube videos, and you’ll see clips of skaters seemingly unaffected and popping their tricks high.
Will my tail get damaged or will I get razor tail?
No, once properly installed the Tail Devil will absorb all the abuse from dragging.
How do I install the Tail Devil on my skateboard?
Peal-off the 3m tape sticker backing and stick it firmly onto the end of the tail. For aggressive skateboarding, reinforce with the two Philips head screws (included in packaging).
Can the Tail Devil be used on any type of skateboard?
Yes, the Tail Devil can be used on most regular wood skateboards, including standard popsicle-shaped decks, cruiser boards, old school, and even most longboards as long as you can hit the tail. However it’s not recommended for plastic boards with tiny tails.
Are there any age or skill level restrictions for using the Tail Devil?
There are no strict age or skill level restrictions lions for using a Tail Devil. As a general guideline, it’s recommended for ages 8 and up, and suitable for all skill levels. Enjoying the simple act of scraping the tail on the ground to produce sparks can be fun for anyone, regardless of skill level.
Can you replace parts such as the flints?
No.
How do I remove a Tail Devil?
To remove you’ll need to unscrew the screws if they were used during installation. Then, you can pry the Tail Devil off using a flathead screwdriver.
Can you detach and reuse a Tail Devil?
Yes, though not recommended, you can detach and reuse a Tail Devil if it hasn't been worn down completely. As long as the Tail Devil still has life left in it, you can remove it and reattach it using the included screws.
What surfaces does the Tail Devil work on?
The Tail Devil works best on concrete and asphalt surfaces. Wood surfaces won't produce sparks, and extremely smooth surfaces will only produce minimal sparks. The flint cylinders need friction to produce sparking fun.
